چکیده
High-harmonic generation (HHG) provides short-wavelength light that is useful for precision spectroscopy and probing ultrafast dynamics. We report efficient, phase-coherent harmonic up to 9th-order (333 nm) in chirped periodically poled lithium niobate waveguides driven by phase-stable $\leq$12-nJ, 100 fs pulses at 3 $\mu$m with MHz repetition rate. A mid-infrared ultraviolet-visible conversion efficiency as high 10% observed, amongst an overall 23% of the fundamental all harmonics. verify coherence frequency combs despite complex highly nonlinear process. Numerical simulations based on a single broadband envelope equation quadratic nonlinearity give estimates within approximately 1 order magnitude over wide range experimental parameters. From this comparison we identify dimensionless parameter capturing competition between three-wave mixing group-velocity walk-off harmonics governs cascaded HHG physics. These results can inform different platforms.

Direct quasi-phase-matched fourth-harmonic generation.
We have theoretically demonstrated direct fourth-harmonic generation (FHG) based on a quasi-phase-matching (QPM) configuration in periodically poled lithium niobate. The wavelength dependence of period of FHG QPM gratings is calculated. Bandwidths of fundamental wavelength, temperature, and incident angle are also studied. We find a very wide bandwidth, as large as 115 nm, of fundamental wavele...

We have fabricated quasi-phase-matched AlGaAs waveguides for continuous-wave second-harmonic generation (SHG) pumped around 1.55 microm. We find that the losses, which limit the conversion efficiency of this type of waveguide, are resulted from two corrugations--the initial template corrugation and the regrowth-induced domain-boundary corrugations. We are able to reduce the waveguide loss by im...

Quasi-phase matched second-harmonic generation at 532 nm is demonstrated in a channel waveguide that is written in bulk fused silica using a femtosecond laser. The second-order nonlinear grating is fabricated using uniform thermal poling followed by periodic erasure inside an e-beam deposition system caused, by what we believe to be, x-rays. A SHG conversion efficiency of 2 x10(-5) %/W-cm(2) wa...
متن کاملHigh-Efficiency Broadband High-Harmonic Generation from a Single Quasi-Phase-Matching Nonlinear Crystal.
Nonlinear frequency conversion offers an effective way to expand the laser wavelength range based on birefringence phase matching (BPM) or quasi-phase-matching (QPM) techniques in nonlinear crystals. So far, efficient high-harmonic generation is enabled only via multiple cascaded crystals because of the extreme difficulty to simultaneously satisfy BPM or QPM for multiple nonlinear up-conversion...
متن کاملPhase-coherent frequency combs in the vacuum ultraviolet via high-harmonic generation inside a femtosecond enhancement cavity.
We demonstrate the generation of phase-coherent frequency combs in the vacuum utraviolet spectral region. The output from a mode-locked laser is stabilized to a femtosecond enhancement cavity with a gas jet at the intracavity focus. The resulting high-peak power of the intracavity pulse enables efficient high-harmonic generation by utilizing the full repetition rate of the laser. Optical-hetero...
